1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using QueerLine (queerline.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use this platform.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Your continued use of QueerLine after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
2. About QueerLine
QueerLine is a nationwide LGBTQ+ community and resource platform. Our mission is to educate, connect, and empower the LGBTQ+ community across the United States. The platform provides health information, a local resource finder, a business directory, events listings, community forums, news aggregation, and a Family Building Network.
QueerLine is not a dating or hookup service and does not facilitate romantic or sexual matchmaking of any kind.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the interactive features of QueerLine, including forums, reviews, business listings, event submissions, and the Family Building Network. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that all information you provide during registration is accurate and truthful.
Informational and educational content on this site, including health resources, crisis support, the HIV and sexual health locator, the glossary, and similar pages, is publicly accessible without an account and is available to any visitor regardless of age.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You may not create multiple accounts for the same person, create an account to impersonate another person or entity, create an account to circumvent a prior suspension or ban, or use automated tools, bots, or scripts to create accounts or interact with the platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post on QueerLine, including forum posts, reviews, event submissions, and business listings. By posting content, you grant QueerLine a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and moderate that content on the platform for as long as it remains posted.
You agree not to post content that:
- Is hateful, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory toward any person or group
- Contains spam, unsolicited promotional material, or commercial content outside designated areas
- Reveals personal information of others without their consent (doxxing)
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
- Contains false or misleading information presented as fact
- Is sexually explicit or pornographic
- Promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
- Infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Is designed to deceive, manipulate, or defraud other users
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we determine to be harmful to the community, without prior notice and at our sole discretion.
6. Community Standards
QueerLine is a community built on mutual respect. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to: harassment and targeted threats toward other users; coordinated mass reporting designed to silence users; impersonation of other users, real people, or organizations; spreading false information about other users or the platform; and using automated or artificial means to manipulate content visibility or engagement. Violations may result in immediate account termination without warning.
7. Safe Space Policy
QueerLine is an explicitly affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals. Content that is anti-LGBTQ+, that promotes or glorifies conversion practices, or that targets LGBTQ+ individuals or communities with hostility will be removed immediately and the responsible account will be permanently banned without warning or refund.
We welcome thoughtful discussion of complex topics. Harassment and hate speech have no place here, and this standard applies to every user equally.
8. Business Listings
Businesses may submit listings for inclusion in the QueerLine directory. All submissions are subject to review and approval at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to reject any listing for any reason, including failure to meet community standards or inaccurate information.
Enhanced and Featured listing tiers are billed through Stripe. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe an error occurred. Business owners are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listing information. QueerLine makes no warranties regarding the accuracy of user-submitted business data.
9. Health, Crisis, and Resource Information
Content on QueerLine related to health, legal rights, crisis support, and community resources is provided for informational and educational purposes only. QueerLine is not a licensed healthcare provider, law firm, mental health practice, or crisis intervention service. Nothing on this platform constitutes professional medical, legal, or mental health advice. Always consult a qualified professional for your specific circumstances.
The HIV and sexual health services locator is powered by data from the CDC National Prevention Information Network (NPIN). QueerLine makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or currency of that data. Provider information may change without notice.
Crisis resources listed on this platform are provided as a convenience. In a mental health emergency, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline). In any life-threatening emergency, call 911.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
QueerLine links to and integrates third-party websites and services. These links are provided as a convenience only. QueerLine does not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, terms, or accuracy of any third-party service. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and is subject to those services' own terms and policies.
11. Intellectual Property
The QueerLine name, logo, design, and all original platform content (excluding user-submitted content) are the property of QueerLine and may not be reproduced, copied, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
12. DMCA Copyright Notification
If you believe that content on QueerLine infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice through our contact page with the following information: your full name and contact details; a description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed; the specific location of the infringing content on our site; a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner or by law; and a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
We will respond to valid DMCA notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512).
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QueerLine and its operators, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: your access to or use of the platform; your violation of these Terms of Service; your violation of any third-party right, including privacy or intellectual property rights; or any content you submit to the platform.
14. Disclaimers
QueerLine is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any content provided on or through the platform, including third-party data such as business listings, event information, provider directories, and news articles.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, QueerLine and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of QueerLine shall not exceed $100 or the total amount you paid to QueerLine in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
16. Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States. Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to contact us through our contact page to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make a good faith effort to resolve it within 30 days of receiving your notice. Any legal action that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought in courts of competent jurisdiction under applicable federal and state law.
17. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to QueerLine at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property rights, indemnification, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, will survive termination.
18. General Provisions
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and QueerLine regarding your use of the platform. Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
