Our Commitment
QueerLine is committed to ensuring our platform is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone in the LGBTQ+ community deserves equal access to health resources, community connection, and the services we provide.
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Accessibility Features
QueerLine includes the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML5 structure with proper heading hierarchy
- ARIA labels and roles on navigation and interactive elements
- Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
- Sufficient color contrast ratios for text readability
- Alternative text on meaningful images
- Descriptive link text (no "click here" links)
- Mobile-responsive design for all screen sizes
- Form labels associated with their inputs
- Error messages clearly associated with form fields
- Skip navigation is available via keyboard
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the site are still being improved. Third-party tools embedded in the site (such as maps, payment forms, and CAPTCHA) are provided by external services and may have their own accessibility limitations.
We are actively working to identify and address any barriers as the platform evolves.
Assistive Technology
QueerLine is tested for compatibility with:
- Screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- High contrast mode
