Hello and Happy Monday, folks!Audience Editor Edgar Ramirez here, back in your inbox with some more on-the-ground reporting from Jack Walker in New York City.Dozens of people picketed outside NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital as part of a campaign challenging restrictions on gender-affirming care for minors at New York City hospitals.Protesters allege that the Manhattan-based hospital has stopped accepting new minor patients for gender-affirming care, mirroring restrictions at other health centers nationwide that cut youth off from gender-affirming care amid pressure from the Trump administration. Among those in attendance at an earlier protest was actor Elliot Page.As The Advocate reported, hospitals across the country have been closing their gender-affirming care programs to minors under pressure from the Trump administration, cutting trans youth off from services that medical associations widely regard as safe and beneficial for mental health.
