Audience Editor Edgar Ramirez here, back in your inbox.We kick off this newsletter with reporting from Christopher Wiggins on Renee Good’s family suing Trump officials over her January death.At the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Becca Good joined Renee’s relatives and their attorneys to announce two federal lawsuits over her killing, Christopher writes. “Every morning she’s my first thought,” Renee's wife Becca said. “I think about how the kids are growing up without their mama, and I’ll grow old without the love of my life.”The couple's children were 15, 12, and 6 when Renee died. This was Becca's first public remarks since the shooting, following a written statement in January.As The Advocate reported, Renee -- a 37-year-old poet and mother of three -- was fatally shot in Minneapolis by an ICE officer after having just dropped her son off at school. The family maintains that Renee and Becca came across the ICE operations on their way home, and decided to stop and "observe with the intention of supporting and helping their neighbors." The companion lawsuit names ICE officer Jonathan Ross, Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, Corey Lewandowski, Tom Homan, Todd Lyons, Gregory Bovino, and 10 unidentified federal agents, all individually.
