There’s some major Mean Girls energy coming from recent interactions between Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who just can’t stop trying to strip transgender people of their access to healthcare, and President Donald Trump. In an audio recording obtained by The New York Times and released September 30, Paxton is asked on a hot mic by an attendee of a private fundraiser in Washington D.C. held six days prior, “Do you feel like he’s a little bit of a drag?” The “he” in the audio was not specified, but other sources corroborate that the statement in question was in reference to President Trump. The event at which this audio was captured took place on September 24 near the Capitol, was hosted by Republican lobbyists Susan Hirschmann and Chris Brinson, and was attended by about a dozen donors and lobbyists. The source who gave the audio recording to the Times remains anonymous due to the private nature of Paxton’s remarks, but according to the paper of record, the source opposes Paxton’s campaign. In addition, per the Times, “Three other people with knowledge of the event confirmed Mr. Paxton’s attendance. Two of these people recal
