Ellie Goulding Slams Fan Account Over Transphobia: “I Know You Are Better Than This”

On September 26, singer and LGBTQ+ ally Ellie Goulding stopped a fan who was spewing anti-trans rhetoric on X right in her tracks. In a since-deleted post from an Ellie Goulding fan account called Anna & Ellie Goulding News, X users shared screenshots of the transphobic post that remarked on Goulding’s latest style choices. “I’m so glad your recent outfits are so feminine—lace, silk,” the screenshots of the since-deleted post read.“They really highlight your beauty; I prefer them over those ‘trans’ looks aimed at a specific community, and I think you do too—you’ve been looking lovely lately.” Goulding swiftly responded to the post on the social media platform. “Girl, no thank you. We don’t tolerate any anti-LGBTQ+ in the fandom. I know you are better than this,” she wrote, making her stance incredibly clear to fans. Her X post has currently been viewed over 1.5 million times.
