Mystique’s Lesbian Relationship Reportedly Cut From Middle East Release of Wolverine

Social media screenshots and video seem to indicate that copies of the game Marvel’s Wolverine sent to countries in the Middle East included redacted and heavily altered references to Mystique’s same-sex relationship and marriage with crime boss Tyger Tiger, per a report in Kotaku.In some of the screenshots currently circulating on social media, images of Mystique and Tyger in bridal gowns have been completely removed. “Why did you censor Mystique's lesbian relationship in Lebanon,” one person wrote on X in response to a tweet about the game from its developer, Insomniac Games. The post came with an accompanying image showing an empty picture frame that, in other territories, includes a picture of Mystique and her wife. The new Marvel action title is being distributed by Sony Interactive Entertainment as an exclusive for the PlayStation 5.
