Nick Offerman Responds to Ben Shapiro’s Homophobic Digs… Three Years Later. We Love an Unbothered King

When Ben Shapiro fires verbal shots at Nick Offerman’s masculinity, how does the Parks and Recreation actor respond? Spoiler: he doesn’t. While sitting down with Sam Fragoso of Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso for an interview published over Labor Day weekend, the talk show host shared a clip of Shapiro floundering to explain the premise of The Last of Us season one’s iconic third episode, “Long, Long Time.” The episode shares the story of a beautiful (and very gay!) 20-year relationship arc between characters Frank and Bill, who were only mentioned in passing in the video game, chronicling their life in this post-apocalyptic world. The episode built on themes of love and the connection needed for survival — and it was a major tear jerker, to boot. What’s more, the episode was ranked number 50 on a Rolling Stone list of “The 100 Best TV Episodes of All Time” in 2024 and won Offerman a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Bill.In the Shapiro video, which we should note was released in 2023, the right-wing personality squawks on about how the “entire episode has no zombies, no real threat, and it is about two gay dudes who meet and have a relationship, in which one grows strawberries for the other, and then they die.” The conservative pundit continues, “There’s gay Ron Swanson, and it’s complete with sex scenes and the whole thing. And gay Ron Swanson decides that he is also going to commit suicide at the same time because of Romeo and Juliet or ‘Romeo and Romeo’ in this particular case.” In other words, it was word vomit — to say the least.After absorbing the three-year-old clip, Offerman said, “Holy s**t.
