Love Island USA fans everywhere are vibrating as the reunion of everyone’s favorite heteropessimist reality dating show is set to air on Monday, August 31st. While the American version of the show has yet to include a significant queer storyline within the walls of the villa —and no, Zach and Bryce’s bromance doesn’t count — there have been some contestants who have come out as LGBTQ+ on the show. Despite the fact that host and bisexual reality TV star Ariana Madix herself has said she wants more queer contestants to enter the villa, we have yet to see any out transgender contestants walk through those hot pink doors.In fact, sans season 8 of Are You The One?, Logo’s Transamerican Love Story, and the abysmal There’s Something About Miriam in which six men vied for the affection of one woman only to later be told she’s trans during the course of the show, there is a notable dearth of trans-inclusive dating shows in the reality TV landscape. That’s why in honor of the reunion, we took it upon ourselves to dream up an all-trans season of Love Island USA.
