Who Is Julia Shiplett? No, She’s Not Just Elliot Page’s Girlfriend. She’s A Brilliant Comedian

Elliot Page is taking press victory lap after playing Sinon in Christopher Nolan’s summer blockbuster The Odyssey, and like any victor worth his salt would, he is using the spotlight to gush about his girlfriend, comedian and actress Julia Shiplett. In his August 5 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host asked Page what it’s like to date a comedian. “Do you ever give her jokes or do bits?” Fallon asked.“Well, I feel like I try,” Page laughed. “I’m usually more in the dad joke, pun area. Like, I’ll be like, ‘Oh, we should have a show like Cheers, but with a gay bar called Queers.’ And she’s immediately like, ‘Yes, where everyone knows your pronouns.’ She just takes it to that other level.” First of all, I would so watch 20 seasons of any theoretical sitcom called Queers, and do hope Shiplett and Page would be main characters. If I may lightly suggest a filming location, perhaps Cubbyhole, Gingers, or Henrietta Hudson’s? But setting Queers aside, Shiplett has already shown her comedic bona fides in the Prime TV series Overcompensating, which premiered in 2025, was scored by Charli XCX herself, and received wide praise.Prior to appearing in Benito Skinner’s coming-of-age series (and, dare I say, late-2010s period piece?), Shiplett worked as a comedian for years. Landing roles in shows like FX’s millennial classic High Maintenance, romantic anthology series Love Life, and the Netflix rom-com Happiness For Beginners, Shiptlett boasts a number of acting credits. Beyond her onscreen work, however, Shiplett has also worked as a copy writer and even directed the short film Mommy’s Last Night.The pair hard-launched their relationship at the end of Pride month 2025 with a simple Instagram selfie, and have been dating publicly for over a year.
