New King of Drag Host Cameron Esposito Says “People Want More Drag Kings.” It’s Us, We’re People

Cameron Esposito hosting a season of King of Drag with Ginger Minj and Yvie Oddly as guest judges sounds like a dream I had once. Except this one is really happening, as Variety confirmed earlier this week.Because the gospel of this show still needs to be spread, a brief recap is necessary: King of Drag is a Revry original reality show, filmed in the style of a certain drag competition juggernaut franchise, except this one spotlights the underappreciated world of kinging.The first season was one of Them’s best shows of 2025, and we praised it for not only delivering a memorable winner — no spoilers— but for capturing some of the scrappy upstart energy of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 1, which lest we forget was filmed in the basement of a Burbank studio.
